Hazardous Communication (HAZCOM) Awareness

This course is in compliance with 29 CFR 1910.1200. "The Right to Know Law"

Your employees have the legal right to know what they can expect to be exposed to while at work. Do you have cleaning products in the workplace? How about the toner for your printers, is that hazardous? Virtually EVERY employer has chemicals in the workplace, it is a matter of realizing it and then doing something about it to inform your employees.

29 CFR 1910.1200 states, ..."the hazards of all chemicals...are evaluated, and that information concerning their hazards is transmitted to employers and employees." It further states that employees that have the potential to be exposed to chemicals in the workplace are required to be informed and trained.

We have two courses to assist you in meeting the needs of your company. The first is designed for office workers and those who may have it in the work are but do not necessarily come in contact with it other than incidental; i.e white out, furniture polish, and etc. The second course is for those who work with it or has more than ocassional contact with chemicals.

We will cover definitions, how to identify hazards, container labeling and secondary labeling, warning signs, material safety data sheets, employee training requirements, and hazard prevention, chemical characteristics, target organ hazards, waste minimization, and how to safely store chemicals in the workplace as well as at home.
