Ergonomics & Back Safety

IAW 29 CFR 1910. Ouch - my leg! These flourecent lights are killing my eyes? How many times have you heard those statements?

Ergonomics is much more than hand position on the computer keyboard. It involves office layout, shelving practices, and office safety. Students will learn a clear definition of Ergonomics; safety, operability, good practice, project design, and etc. Specifically, movement of personnel in the workplace, plant layout, office space requirements, work environment, maintenance, manual task; checklists and characteristics.

Back Safety is everyone's business and not only is it important to know about what to do as well as what not to do when it comes to lifting, moving, and bending, but it is important to know how to take care of your back and to perform daily stretching and exercising of the back.
