The National Registry of Radiation Protection Technologist (NRRPT) Exam Prep Course

(Classes begin January 2008)

The NRRPT 40 hour exam prep course is designed to "help" you in your preparation to take the exam. The purpose of the NRRPT registration is for those who work as a Radiological Control Technician (RCT) to demonstrate they have gone above and beyond in their professional expertise in this chosen field and have at least five years of experience.

The registry exam is not easy and covers a lot of ground that many technicians tend to forget as they work in a specific area or industry. Many chose to self study the material in preparation only to find many distractions to interfere with the efforts. As mentioned above, this course is designed to help you improve your opportunity to pass the exam. Why do we say "help?" Because we know that everyone has different abilities to retain material and then recall it during testing. We also recognize that it takes great effort to perform well and to simply show up to class with the expectation the instructor will spoon feed the information into the retention bank is not realistic. Unfortunatley there will be some who expect this from the course.

This course will re-aquaint you with the scientific, technical, and regulatory requirements needed. Your studies and involvement with both the instructor and fellow class members will reinforce your understanding of the important topics that will be covered. Below are listed topics you may see in the course.

  • Applied Radiation Protection
